Shri Narsingh Bhawan Dharamshala (Trust) is situated in the Holy City Haridwar near Mansa Devi Ropeway, Har ki Pauri – Main Market, Ramghat (Uttarakhand). Sri Narsingh Bhawan Dharamshala and Shri Laxmi Narsingh Bhagwan Mandir was founded by Raja Bahadur Sir Bansilal Motilal Pittie. He was a resident of Hyderabad and his family was originally from Nagaur , Rajasthan. He was a kind, noble man who worked for public welfare and founded many social welfare schemes and charities during his lifetime. Sri Narsingh Bhawan Dharamshala and Shri Laxmi Narsingh Bhagwan Mandir was established in the year 1931 and registered under the Charitable Society trust as “Raja Bahadur Bansilal Motilal Shri Narsingh Bhawan Haridwar Trust” for welfare of the public and to serve people. Raja Bahadur Sir Bansilal Pittie handed over both Narsingh Bhawan Dharamshala and Shri Laxmi Narsingh Bhagwan Mandir to the Trust committee.
Raja Bahadur Sir Bansilal Pittie’s son Raja Pannalal Pittie became the Managing Trustee after his father’s demise in 1932. In the year 1986, on the occasion of Mahakumbh, he installed the statue of Sri Ramanuj Charya in the Shri LaxmiNarsingh Mandir with all rituals. After the demise of Raja Pannalal Pittie in 1987, his son Shri Lakshmilal Pittie took over as Managing Trustee of the Trust. He renovated the dharamshala and provided modern facilities making the Dharamshala more homely and comfortable to its guests.
His son, Shri Arvind Pittie is the Managing trustee of the Trust since the demise of Shri Lakshmilal Pittie in 1994. The Dharmshala welcomes people of all castes and religion. All are treated on equal basis without any discrimination.
The Dharamshala provides modern facilities in a clean environment. There are fully-furnished clean rooms of which some are air-cooled and air-conditioned and also have the facility of hot water and geysers. A canteen serves vegetarian food. There is also a dispensary, lift, parking space, 24 Hrs Power Backup, environment friendly gardenetc. The Dharamshala conducts daily morning & evening prayers (bhajan, kirtan) in its temple premises. The Trust is also registered under Section 80 G of the Income Tax Act.
