Lord Shiva revealed his true form and forgave the Pandavas. The temple was built on this spot, and it has been a place of worship ever since.

The Kedarnath Temple is constructed using large stone slabs and has a unique architectural style. The temple has a rectangular shape and is adorned with intricate carvings and sculptures. The outer walls of the temple are made of huge stone blocks, and the inner sanctum is made of wood. The temple has a conical-shaped roof made of stone slabs, and a gold-plated flag can be seen on top of the temple. The temple has a large courtyard where devotees can sit and meditate.

Pilgrimage

Kedarnath Temple is one of the Char Dham Yatra destinations, along with Yamunotri, Gangotri, and Badrinath. Millions of devotees visit Kedarnath every year to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. The temple is open only for six months from May to November, and during the winter months, the idol of Lord Shiva is shifted to Ukhimath for worship.

The trek to Kedarnath Temple is a challenging one and involves a steep climb of over 14 km from Gaurikund. The trek passes through dense forests, waterfalls, and river streams, and the scenery is awe-inspiring.
