Description
Located just 50 meters from Gangotri Temple, Punjab Sindh Kshetra offers two and four-bedded rooms. This property offers the best view of the River as well as the temple from the glass-covered balcony. Meals are available here.
Gangotri is perhaps the most revered pilgrimage in India as it is the place where the sacred Ganga River originates. Maa Ganga is the soul of India and the symbol of purity. No puja, ceremony or ritual is complete with Ganga Jal. From Gangotri, the river flows across Eastern India and merges with the sea at Gangasagar in West Bengal.
There are several other places in and near Gangotri that are to be visited. All these places are connected with stories from the Puranas and other religious texts. The river actually originates from Gaumukh, about 17 km further up in the mountains, and is known as the Bhagirathi here.
